Year 4 Student and Parent Camp (Dad's Camp)
Year 4 Student and Significant Adult Camp 2025 (previously known as the Dad's camp)

The 17 - 21 February will see our Year 4 students participating in a number of different activities as part of our Year 4 Camp at Cooee Bay.
This exciting event is being fully supervised by CSDE Year 4 Teachers. Students and parents will participate in many fun educational and social activities together. Students will enjoy an action-packed program and be involved in activities that develop resilience, communication and teamwork, as well as personal and group challenges.
Accommodation
Students and their parent will be staying in airconditioned cabins at the PCYC Cooee Bay Yeppoon, formally, the Yeppoon Active Recreation Centre. Students and Adults will need to bring bedding and linen.



Key Due Dates

December 11th, 2024 - RSVP due including payment of deposit to secure your RSVP. This deposit can be paid via the Qkr! app. Add the Year 4 Camp deposit into your cart and proceed with purchase.
January 20th, 2025 - Invoices for the remaining camp fees will be emailed to families.
January 29th, 2025 - All Forms and form links to be completed and returned to administration@caprrocksde.eq.edu.au
February 10th - Shirt Purchases complete via the Qkr! app
February 10th - Final payments due to school and final numbers confirmed with the camp venue and activity coordinators.
Due to the school being closed over the Christmas Holidays, Qkr! will be unavailable from 12 December until the week before Term One commences Monday 20th January 2025.

Camp Costs

Cost per student: $350
Cost per adult: $350
Deposit $150 by Wednesday 11 December 2024
Final Payment Due by Monday 10th February 2025
Inclusions:
- 4 nights accommodation
- Bus Charters to and from PCYC Yeppoon to Rockhampton Zoo (return)
- All activities and entry fee to Capricorn Caves
- 3 meals and 3 snack per day

Deposit - The deposit for camp can be found in the Qkr! app. The remaining cost for camp will be invoiced to families via email.
Dietary - All school camps aim to inspire children to a healthier lifestyle that includes a tasty, balanced diet. Students will be provided three healthy, high-energy meals per day, with plenty of variety, and they always serve generous portions of fruit and vegetables for a balanced meal. A vegetarian alternative can always be provided, and we can accommodate most special diets required on medical or religious grounds but in all cases, they will require full details at time of booking – please ensure you complete the dietary details in the RSVP webform.


Camp Shirts - Optional

CSDE is offering families the opportunity to purchase a CapSDE Camp shirt for their student.
There is the option of short sleeve or long sleeve.
Please note this is an optional extra and there is no obligation to purchase. However, if you would like to purchase this keepsake for your student you can do so via the Qkr! app.
Cost: $37.50 Short Sleeve and $43.00 Long Sleeve
Important - Please don’t forget to indicate your child’s size when purchasing. Size chart and shirt design below.



Transport Options

Students and their chosen parent arrive at PCYC Cooee Bay by 12:00noon on Monday 17 February.
Camp concludes on Friday morning 9:00am after breakfast and pack up.



Activity Overview

Camp participants will enjoy a range of activities including:
Leadership games
Canoeing & Raft Building
High ropes - student cost for activity covered in camp fees. Dads can choose to just watch. Should Dad’s wish to participate a fee of $32.00 per person would be required. (Payment direct to PCYC on the day)
Laser skirmish
Climbing wall – student cost for activity covered in camp fees. Dads can choose to just watch. Should Dad’s wish to participate a fee of $32.00 per person would be required. (Payment direct to PCYC on the day)
Beach Cricket
Excursion to Rockhampton Zoo
Cathedral Cave Tour, Fossil sorting, QM Dig Pits & Adventure Caving at the Capricorn Caves
Movie Night: There will be a movie night on camp and the selected movie may be rated PG.
By signing the camp consent form, you are giving permission for your student to watch a movie rated PG. Please be assured that all care is taken to ensure the content of any selected movie is appropriate.










What to Bring

Please bring:
Small backpack for your student to carry their belongings on the excursion to the Rockhampton Zoo and the Capricorn Caves.
Please ensure that all items are sun smart and clearly labelled with your student's name.
A plastic garbage bag for your child's dirty/wet clothing.
Please do not bring any valuables, jewellery or lollies to camp. We also ask that parents not consume alcohol.



Medication

Medication:
If your student requires medication, please complete the Consent to Administer Medication form. School staff will not administer any over the counter medication, including analgesics, homeopathic or prescribed medication unless a written request is provided from a parent/guardian, accompanied by written advice from a medical practitioner and with the medication in the original labelled container.
Parent/s are requested to arrange with the teacher-in-charge for the safekeeping and handling of prescribed medications and equipment prior to the excursion. All medication will be administered according to the HLS-PR-009 Administration of routine and emergency medication policy.
Mobile Phones

As per the CapSDE Student Code of Conduct, students are not permitted to bring their mobile phones or electronic devices on camp.
