Our School Values
Principal's Pen
2022 seems to be flying by. As we break for school holidays I’d like to thank you for your continued support of our school and your students.
Term 4 will see the school shift into high gear. Our teaching staff will continue supporting students to achieve their highest potential. Planning is also underway for our end of year events which I know we all look forward to with great excitement.
Next term our Year 12 students will be preparing for their final exams. Finishing Year 12 is a wonderful accomplishment and marks an important phase in life. Some of our students may be looking to go on to further study, others into a trade qualification or work. Whatever your pathway please know we are here to support you and that it’s okay to ask for help.
This term has seen some great progress with our building projects. Demolition works at the Emerald Campus have commenced and the timeline for completion remains set for the end of 2022 in readiness for students and families to access at our Induction Days in 2023.
At the Rockhampton Campus, internal works to the new demountable buildings continue with fencing to secure the site taking place in the first week of school holidays. We anticipate practical completion will be completed by Week 2 of Term 4. The intention for these buildings is for our Rockhampton Primary staff to relocate to this space. I will continue to provide updates as we progress.
The Executive Team this term, have been continuing work to ensure our commitment to advancing student learning and improvement of our school’s performance is enacted. This includes reviewing our school budget, staffing and student outcomes and progress. As always, the school would love to hear your feedback and suggestions to improve.
If you are travelling over the school break please travel safely. If you are having a ‘stay-cation’ please enjoy the down time. I look forward to welcoming you back for Term 4 on the 4th of October 2022.
Kind regards,
Amanda Rynne
'Sports Person of the Year Award' entries
CSDE annually acknowledges the sporting achievements of a Primary and Secondary Student, who has excelled throughout the year at the end of Year Awards Ceremony.
The presentation of the Sports Person of the Year Award goes to the student who has accumulated the most amount of points throughout the year in their various sporting achievements.
Scores are based on events, the level of the event (district, regional, state, national etc) and the student's placing within those events.
At the end of the year, points are collated and the winner announced.
Parents are asked to advise the school of the sporting achievements by completing this online form.
Secondary News...
Year 7 - 9 Camp
Camp has finished for our Year 7 - 9 students and what a jam packed week they had.
Thank you once again to Mrs Miles, Mrs Hassam, Mrs Genninges and Mr Tregilles who volunteered their time for the week. Without dedicated teachers such as these, our students would not be afforded these opportunities.
Junior research engagement program - STEM experience for Year 8 & 9 Students
Students Performing Advanced Research QLD (SPARQ-ed) are pleased to announce a new SPARQ-ed experience exclusive for Year 8 & 9 students, the “Junior Research Engagement Program”! This comprehensive 2 day program has been designed by our SPARQ-ed Team to introduce students to the amazing world of biomedical science and research. Our aim is to inspire these students to consider future subject choices and careers in STEM.

Students will gain hand-on lab experience in our state-of-the-art PC2 biomedical research laboratory and classroom located at the Translational Research Institute (TRI) in Woolloongabba.
