Qkr! app - Android issues resolved

For any of our families that have been having issues with the Commonwealth Bank's Qkr! app, these issues have now been resolved.

Parents/users can now download the App from the Google Play Store and Itunes for Apple devices. The Qkr! App is our primary method for purchasing uniforms, paying camp deposits, purchasing formal tickets and so on.

Families can also access Qkr! via their website link:

Mini-school

It was great to see so many of our students attend Mini-school last week! Students converged on their chosen campus from across the state and enjoyed face-to-face time with their peers and teachers. Our Home Tutors were also given the change to upskill and build relationships with other Home Tutors.

Kids Helpline

The school has been working with Kids’ Helpline, to provide information sessions to students. These will happen across the year at various times.

Four sessions have been identified as being of particular interest, and these have been indicated on the attached form.

Please open the attached document, complete, and return to administration@caprrocksde.eq.edu.au, by Friday 8th March if you would prefer your student to opt out of the sessions.

If you are keen for your student to attend, no further action is required.

Unlocking Your Inner Leader – offered just to Y6 students, delivered face-to-face and streamed online

Transition to High School – Y6 students again, but at T4 MS face-to-face and streamed.

Let’s Talk About Emotions – delivered to Y4 and Y5 students. Again, face-to-face delivery, but streamed for at-home as well.

Mrs Semple - Photography

One of the photography challenges was using the rules of composition to take a shot of an animal (stuffed toy) in the garden (it’s natural habitat).

Secondary Photography

Ashia has used the rules of composition on this one as she placed the subject to the side and zoomed in on the sheep lol…

Indigo took this one of Mrs Semple and Mrs Metelli taking a ‘selfie’ of themselves. Indigo capturing a ‘candid’ moment

English at Mini-school

The English faculty created a variety of engaging and hands on activities to keep eager young minds working hard during Mini school this term.

The year 10 students took a sneak peak into using the narrative skill of SHOWING and not TELLING. They had the opportunity to read a short story and interact with the ending. Look at their reactions after reading the text!

Focus skills for the year 9 students was working in groups  to create metaphors, similes and personification that represented images.

Year 8 students got up on their feet and acted out some Dreamtime stories with their teachers. A lot of fun was had as they engaged dramatically with the text.

Creating Soundtracks of Life was the focus for year 7 session. Students were absolutely thrilled to enter the room to the sounds of either Wham’s, Wake me up before you Go or Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give you Up. In this session, students were asked to pick 5 songs that mean something to them, be it songs from when they were a kid, or songs from today. They had to then tell us why these songs were on their Mixed Tape
